The Accounts Payable Officer will oversee the institution's payables, ensuring invoices, expense claims, and supplier payments are processed accurately and on time.Client DetailsIs a leading higher education institution dedicated to academic excellence and student success. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team and support the smooth processing of financial transactions.DescriptionProcess invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims in accordance with financial policies and procedures.Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.Ensure timely and accurate payment processing, including BACS and cheque payments.Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve payment-related queries.Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements (e.g., VAT), and institutional policies.Support process improvements to enhance efficiency in the accounts payable function.Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks and reporting as required. ProfilePrevious experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role, preferably within the education or public sector.Knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and procurement policies within higher education.Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Agresso, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).Strong Excel skills and ability to manage large datasets.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
