Job description

Job summary

Wearside Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Coder / Administrator to join the team.

The duties will include :

  • Answering the telephones and face to face interaction with patients
  • Supporting clinical staff with searches and audits
  • Dealing with patient queries and daily tasks from clinical team
  • Scanning and Snowmed coding patient correspondence into patient records
  • Monitoring practice email account
  • Supporting clinical staff in all clinical procedures and maintain patient registers including safeguarding, palliative care, frailty etc
  • Booking of appointments, dealing with prescription requests
  • Taking minutes of meetings

  • Wearside Medical Practice is a well organised, forward thinking and friendly Practice with an approximate list size of 8300 patients.
  • We currently have 1 GP Partner, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners supported by two Practice Nurses and 1 Health Care Assistant and a full complement of administrative staff.
  • We were rated overall Good by CQC in June 22.
  • The Practice maintains a very high QOF achievement each year.
  • The Practice uses EMIS Web supported by MJOG and GP TeamNet
  • Part of care home alignment scheme the Practice holds weekly MDT meetings to improve care of patients with complex needs.
  • The Practice holds regular formal clinical and nursing educational / MDT meetings.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • GCSEs and NVQ Level 2 or 3
  • Desirable

  • RSA certification
  • GCSE in IT
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Knowledge of Emis Web is essential;
  • Minimum 2 year's experience of working in primary care setting.
