Children’s home Ibstock, Leicestershire are recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and be responsible for providing compassionate care during your time with them. This role also involves supporting the Registered Manager to run a successful staff team and to oversee the day-to-day operation of the home

Our home is a detached property set in a rural location on the outskirts of a Leicestershire village, with access to Burton and Midland’s Road network. The home provides a nurturing, supportive, structured and stable environment, on a 24-hour basis, for up to three young people aged up to 18 with emotional, developmental and / or behavioural difficulties.

Due to the location of this role, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

A Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential and Childcare is essential , as well as previous experience within a residential childcare setting along with the following characteristics :

Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication play a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

Organisation – As well as supervising the staff team, you’ll need to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.

Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

Attentive – No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
