Gilmartins are recruiting experienced Carpenter Multi Trades with additional skills such as basic plumbing & electrics (like-for-like), patch plastering , and tiling .

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in social housing.

We work in social housing and provide reactive repairs for local authorities and housing associations.

The job involves work and travel in the East London area, covering main post codes including E11, E10, and IG . Properties are spread across these areas, so regular travel is required.

Gilmartins is a family-owned and operated business, valuing our staff and promoting from within. Our Board of Directors mostly started on the tools themselves, so they have a hands-on understanding of the work we do.

Role Responsibilities

  • Carry out property repairs and maintenance works in social housing.
  • Work according to the Scope of Works on PDA for each job.

Job Requirements

  • Full UK manual driving license (not EU license, not automatic).
  • Own tools required.
  • Experience in social housing preferred.
  • DBS certificate.

    • Hours of work are from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday , with call-outs as required approximately once every 4 weeks. On-call hours are from Monday to Sunday, 5pm to 1am, with a pay rate of £35-£50 per call out .
