Job Vacancy : SEN Teaching Assistant (1 : 1 Support)Location : Barnet, North LondonContract Type : Full-time, Temp to PermanentStart Date : ASAPPAY : £90 - £110 per dayWe are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1 : 1 basis at our mainstream primary school in Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate individual to make a real difference in the life of a young learner by providing tailored support to help them thrive in the classroom.Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide 1 : 1 support for a Year 1 student with ASD, ensuring their learning needs are met
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities that are adapted to the student’s individual needs
  • Support the student with social and emotional development, using appropriate strategies to promote inclusion and engagement
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour and help the student develop social skills and self-regulationEssential Skills & Experience :
  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD
  • An understanding of strategies and approaches to supporting children with ASD, including social skills development and emotional regulation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamDesirable :
  • Experience working with children in Key Stage 1 (Year 1)
  • Knowledge of specific interventions or programmes that support children with ASD
  • A passion for working in special educational needs and supporting diverse learners
