This role focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and nuisance within the borough, working closely with housing services, enforcement teams, and other internal and external partners. The successful candidate will lead investigations, manage enforcement actions, and support victims while ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and council policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage cases of anti-social behaviour, nuisance, harassment, and hate crime.
  • Use a range of enforcement tools, including prosecutions and injunctions, in collaboration with the council's legal team.
  • Work closely with housing providers, private landlords, and community safety teams to reduce ASB and safeguard residents.
  • Gather and prepare evidence for legal proceedings, attending court as necessary.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to council housing staff and other partners.
  • Lead multi-agency meetings, develop action plans, and support joint initiatives to tackle ASB.
  • Engage with residents, businesses, and service users to develop and improve service provision.
  • Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including safeguarding requirements.

Person Specification

  • Strong knowledge of ASB and criminal legislation, including enforcement tools and legal proceedings.
  • Experience in investigating ASB cases and preparing evidence for court.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple agencies, including the police, housing providers, and community safety teams.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable.
