Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a Qualified Head of Science. This is a wonderful opportunity for an exceptionally talented teacher who is looking to take the next step in developing their leadership career.

The school are looking for an individual who will take the lead on the development of a pupil-centred approach to learning through the leadership of key projects such as modernising departmental resources and reviewing the use of technology, choices of exam board and curricula, schemes of work, and fieldwork. They will need a clear vision for the department and the ability both to communicate this effectively and to inspire colleagues to work collaboratively towards achieving it. They must also be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a clear commitment to improving their own practice as well that of the department.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • It is essential that you have QTS and experience teaching Science in a school setting in either a permanent or supply cover role.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.

    • To be eligible for any teaching job with Prospero Teaching, you must

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child related references.
