Group Management Accountant

Location : West Bromwich (Hybrid - 3-4 days on-site)

Salary : £40,000 - £55,000 DOE

Robert Half is delighted to be exclusively retained by HERMEQ in the recruitment of a talented Group Management Accountant . This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to progress their career towards a Financial Controller role within a dynamic and growing organisation.

The Role

As the Group Management Accountant , you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of management accounting and take full ownership of the profit and loss (P&L) function. You will be responsible for key financial processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journal entries , and handling some payroll queries .

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts up to trial balance.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations .
  • Manage accruals and prepayments .
  • Post journal entries accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries .
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts .
  • Provide financial insights and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and career-driven individual with strong financial expertise and a keen interest in progressing within the business.

Requirements :

  • Ideally fully qualified (or with no more than five exams left, having sat an exam recently).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills .
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the manufacturing sector .
  • A strong understanding of management accounting principles .
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ambition to progress towards a Financial Controller role.
