Job description

Key Responsibilities : ✅ Court Proceedings - Manage cases involving care proceedings, supervision orders, and legal planning, ensuring all decisions align with The Children Act 1989 & 2004. ✅ Case Management - Conduct thorough assessments, care planning, and direct work with children and families, ensuring timely interventions. ✅ Report Writing & Evidence Submission - Prepare high-quality court statements, care plans, and viability assessments, presenting findings in court as an expert witness. ✅ Multi-Agency Collaboration - Work closely with CAFCASS, legal teams, police, health services, and education professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children. ✅ Safeguarding & Risk Assessment - Assess risk factors and make informed recommendations in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018). ✅ Direct Work with Families - Engage with children and families to understand their needs, support positive change, and ensure their voices are heard throughout the legal process. ✅ Compliance & Record-Keeping - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with local authority policies, GDPR, and court expectations.Requirements :

  • Degree in Social Work and active registration with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Proven experience in Children's Services, specifically within a Court, Safeguarding, or Child Protection Team
  • Strong knowledge of UK legislation, public law proceedings, and court processes
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and evidence-based court reports
  • Confidence in presenting evidence in court and handling cross-examinations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
