One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Repairs Operations Manager on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9 : 00am to 5 : 00pm.Hybrid working role were, however, you will be required to attend the office 2 / 3 times a week.Overview :
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of the repairs service comprising a variety of trades ensuring high levels of quality, productivity and high customer satisfaction
- Lead a planned works team tasked with completing works packages and projects
- Lead a voids team tasked with completing repairs and refurbishments quickly minimising void turnaround times
- Utilising the internal pool of labour to achieve operational efficiency minimising the use of contractors in preference of self-deliveryDuties :
- Perform a key leadership role to the repairs service, the voids team and planned works team supporting and motivating staff to achieve high levels of performance. Deputise for the Head of Service where required.
- Implement a performance management framework to develop and encourage strong results. Introduce action plans addressing underperformance issues to ensure service and / or financial targets are met.
- Implement operational best practice in the team and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Disciplined management of Works in Progress (WIP) and achievement of key performance measures in customer satisfaction, productivity, response times and high standards of workmanship.
