As a Quantity Surveyor in the Mechanical & Electrical (MEP Residential) sector, you will be responsible for overseeing cost management, procurement, and commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical projects within the residential sector. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities : Assist at estimation stage on a wide range of aspects.Complete cost management of mechanical and electrical projects from inception through to completion.Review and assess contractor / supplier quotations.Manage subcontractor procurement and contract negotiation.Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and ensure operations are delivered in a “back-to-back” fashion.Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.Identify and mitigate risks related to cost, time, and quality.Provide accurate reporting on project costs, progress, and cash flow.Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and client expectations.Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.RequirementsExperience : Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) sector, ideally in residential construction.Qualifications : A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field is desired. RICS or equivalent accreditation is desirable.Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of M&E services, procurement, and cost management within the construction industry.Communication : Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.IT Proficiency : Proficient in the use of relevant industry software (e.g., MS Office, Trimble, or similar).Attention to Detail : Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Other information
