Family Liaison Officer

Position Type : Full time

Location : Sandbach

Teaching Personnel have an amazing opportunity to work with an exceptional school based in Sandbach. The school is looking for a dedicated family liaison officer.

Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate the educational partnership between home, school, wider school community, and Local Authority, by support, liaison, and negotiation; and act as a facilitator in finding successful resolutions where conflict arises.
  • Commit to the safeguarding and promoting of the welfare of children and young people.
  • Adhere to existing working practices, methods, and procedures; undertake relevant training and development activities; and respond positively to new and alternative systems.
  • Attend relevant school meetings, as well as any other relevant meetings associated with this role.
  • Meet with school staff, pupils, and parents to identify problems and possible solutions.
  • Complete administrative tasks specifically concerning pupil admissions, attendance monitoring, pupil destinations, and maintaining an accurate records system.

Qualifications :

  • Previous experience with SEN and working with families in challenging circumstances, with expertise to support and resolve difficulties.
  • Strong contacts within the local authority, including education, social services, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience of multi-agency work with an understanding of legislation, policies, and guidance around safeguarding and child protection.
  • A genuine passion for enhancing the life opportunities for our young people and their families, with the ability to be empathetic and understanding.
