We are working with a pioneering organisation at the forefront of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Machine Learning Researcher to join their team, working on cutting-edge research in probabilistic modelling and Bayesian optimisation.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative research team developing innovative algorithms that push the boundaries of machine learning. The role involves conducting research that is both theoretically rigorous and scalable to real-world applications, with the opportunity to publish in leading machine learning conferences.
In addition to independent research, you will contribute to internal product development, customer projects, and open-source initiatives such as Trieste, GPflow, and GPflux.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a research programme focused on probabilistic modelling, Bayesian optimisation, and related fields
- Collaborate with the team to achieve research goals and publish findings internally and externally
- Support product development by applying cutting-edge research to real-world challenges
- Contribute to open-source machine learning libraries and actively engage with the research community
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience :
A PhD in a technical field or equivalent experience, with published research in machine learning, statistics, or optimisation conferences and journalsDesirable Skills & Experience :
Background in decision-making fields such as Bayesian optimisation, bandits, reinforcement learning, or active learningExperience in probabilistic modelling methods such as Gaussian processes, Bayesian neural networks, or variational inferenceStrong proficiency in numerical programming (Python / NumPy / TensorFlow / PyTorch)Interest in applying machine learning to real-world problems relevant to the organisation’s customersAbility to collaborate, review documents and code, and provide constructive feedbackPassion for continuous learning and development in machine learning researchWhat’s on Offer?
