Financial Co-ordinator

The Care Act gives local authorities the power to charge for services for care and support when providing Adult Social Care. The overarching principle is that people should only be required to pay what they can afford. People will be entitled to funding from their local authority based on a means-test and some will be entitled to free care.

It is the Financial Co-ordinators job to apply the Council’s financial and charging policies adopted from The Care Act guidance and principles when deciding the client’s contribution. They gather all appropriate information and advice families through the financial assessment process.

The Financial Co-ordinator applies the Council’s financial and charging policies for Adult Social Care clients through the delivery of efficient and effective information and advice. They assess a customers’ ability to pay towards care services provided, monitoring and preventing debt, provide welfare benefit advice and assistance to maximise household and individual income, underpin the Services’ Direct Payment offer and provide robust support, information and advice. The successful applicants will need to demonstrate they are enthusiastic, reliable, good communicator who works on their own initiative and as part of a team. They will be dealing with people financial information, therefore a high level of accuracy and a good attention to detail is essential.

We have one Financial Co-ordinator position available in the East of the borough, based at Macclesfield Town Hall on a 12-month contract.

Cheshire East Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Borough.
