Job Title : SEN School Care Worker

Location : Christchurch

Salary : £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent

Start Date : Immediate

GSL Education are looking for an engaging and dedicated SEN School Care Worker to join school in Christchurch . This role is essential for providing tailored care and support to students with additional needs, ensuring they thrive in their educational and personal development.

SEN School Care Worker Responsibilities :

  • Provide one-to-one and small group care to support students' with special education needs .
  • Assist students with personal care tasks, always ensuring dignity and respect.
  • Help students access the curriculum by providing tailored assistance in lessons.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to develop and review individual care plans.
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, offering feedback to staff and families.
  • Encourage the development of life skills, independence, and confidence in students.
  • Support students during activities, breaks, and school outings to ensure their safety and engagement.

Qualification & Skills :

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a School Care Worker or working with children / young people is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or similar, are advantageous.
  • A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and behaviour management strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
