Product Development Engineer - Future Programmes
As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for technical aspects of your respective programmes. Projects will cover all phases of a product's lifecycle : concepts, development, testing, qualification, production and in service support. You will work with a team of engineers to deliver a variety of project goals, depending on project size and complexity.
This diverse role will provide you with the opportunity to engage with many different engineering disciplines, as well as gaining a wealth of experience in this area.
Responsibilities
- Assisting product development and systems engineering activities for new products
- Coordination of product development and related engineering activities
- Configuration and maintenance of Engineering bills of materials for products
- Product development and evaluation e.g. Pugh Matrices, Fault Tree Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Manufacture, test and evaluation of munitions products
- Conducting and managing trials in a safe and suitable manner - from the trials planning stage to completion of the trial and presentation of the data
Essential
Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering (or similar Engineering discipline)Minimum 5 Years product development experience in the Engineering industryAvailable for immediate startApplicants must be able to demonstrate a proven capability in development projects, in particular system integrationProven ability to take ownership, prioritise and deliver product Engineering tasks within development projects to ensure completion within agreed timescales and to required standardAbility to produce high quality technical reportsA good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and strong IT skillsA good understanding of project / risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniquesAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and modelsDesirable
Master's Degree in Electrical and / or Electronic Engineering with proof of experience in developing complex electro-mechanical systemsA working knowledge of Systems Engineering and Engineering designWorking knowledge of Risk ManagementAwareness of relevant manufacturing technologies and processesCurrent valid UK Security Clearance to SC level or higherSharemanages this role
