Greenspaces & Community Events Support Officer (Full-Time)

Position : Greenspaces & Community Events Support Officer

Hours : Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends for events

Salary : £13.69 per hour

Location : Redditch Town Hall B98 8AH / Hybrid - you will be required to attend events hosted by Redditch & Bromsgrove Council

Requirements : Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

The successful applicant will require a DBS check, Opus People Solutions will process this for you.

Are you passionate about community events and greenspaces? We are seeking a dynamic individual to assist in planning and delivering exciting events and supporting the development of greenspaces in our community.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with research, development, and creative planning of events, including the Green Fair, Summer Fun, and Light Trail events.
  • Source and secure external organisations, partners, and third-party agencies to participate in events.
  • Identify resource requirements, obtain proposals, quotes, and invoices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external departments to ensure smooth planning and execution.
  • Maintain the 'Live Project Tracker' (including work plans, budgets, and supplier contacts).
  • Ensure events run on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist with event documentation, including management plans, risk assessments, and site maps.
  • Support event production, logistics, marketing, and promotion.
  • Work alongside businesses and partners to develop offers within greenspaces.
  • Assist with site management, setups, and pack-downs.
  • Enable community engagement and participation in events.
  • Perform any additional duties as directed by the Greenspaces & Community Events Officer.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project coordination and maintaining schedules.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
