About the Role :

We are excited to offer aspiring teachers a fantastic opportunity to join GLFs Trainee Teacher Programme in partnership with Inspiring Future Teachers. As part of our GLF Schools Teacher Training Hub youll receive exceptional training support and a choice of training routes from our employmentbased routes where your salary and training fees are funded to our feefunded routes where you could pay for trainee fees by a student loan or potentially receive a training bursary.

As a trainee at GLF youll be part of a supportive team where your professional development wellbeing and workload will be prioritised. We believe in nurturing talent at GLF and are committed to helping you grow into a confident capable educator who could have a long and rewarding career with GLF. Youll gain handson experience in various school settings that work for you including GLFs nurseries and primary and secondary schools within our Trust.

Qualifications :

To be eligible for this teacher training route you will have the following qualifications :

  • A degree awarded by a UK higher education provider or recognised equivalent qualification. (For Secondary courses at least 50 of your degree will be in the subject you wish to teach.
  • Grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths and (Science for Primary routes only)
  • Demonstrate you hold the right to work and study in the UK and have been a resident in the UK / EEA for the last three years.
  • A Degree 2 : 2 or above (may accept a 3rd class degree in particular circumstances.
  • For some employmentbased training routes some school experience will be required alongside a school to offer an employment contract.
  • Stage 2 of the applications process if that you will need to complete a DfE application form to train to teach and pass all criteria of the Initial Teacher Training provider.

Funding / Salary

GLF offer funded training routes with a fixed term full time contract 32.5 hours a week on an Unqualified teacher scale for specific candidates in specific routes.

GLF also offer unpaid training routes but you can apply for :

  • Tuition fee loans to cover your 9250 course fees.
  • Maintenance loans of up to 13022 to help with living costs.
  • Some secondary subject also comes with a taxfree bursary paid by the Department for Education.
