Nursery Practitioner - Level 2+ - ASAP start - Hildenborough TN11 - £11.44 per hour

We are looking for an exceptional person to join our team. This unique opportunity requires a qualified childcare professional with plenty of personality, creativity and an open-mind. The nursery practitioner performs an important role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others. They are creative and reflective and able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the team. There is simply no other job like this one.

This nursery is a well-established nursery and forest school that welcomes children from 0 - 5 years with an excellent reputation. They take a holistic approach to childcare, allowing children freedom to play and learn independently, with an emphasis on outdoor learning. Also operates a forest school for the children so an understanding and appreciation of this concept would be desirable.

We are located an 8 minute walk from Hildenborough train station and we are also a 5 minute walk away from the local 402 bus route heading towards Sevenoaks.

Your main tasks and duties will include

  • Protect and promote the health and well-being of children
  • Ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Promote positive relationships in the early years setting
  • Support children's learning and development through play
  • Be a 'key person' to a small group of children and build positive relationships with their families
  • Monitor children's progress to ensure they reach their developmental targets
  • Plan and create activities which keep children engaged throughout the day
  • Enable children to become more independent
  • Help prepare children for the transition into school life

Candidate Requirements

  • Level 2 in childcare
  • Able to commit to full time hours (45 hours per week)
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS
  • Good communication skills
