The Role of a Care Assistant
Home Instead are looking for people with kind, compassionate hearts who want to make a true difference to the quality of life for our clients in Retford and Gainsborough .
We are seeking caring individuals who can support our clients and offer part time weekend work.
Care assistants support clients in the community to live and remain in their own home. Due to the nature of the role in the community you must be willing to travel around Rotherham and commit to working a combination of the following shift times 7am – 2.30pm and 3.45pm – 9.45pm every weekend.
We require applicants have a valid driving licence, access to a car and willing to add business insurance to their insurance policy.
You will support clients with :
- Personal care tasks
- Medication
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Shopping
- General companionship and wellbeing
- Taking clients to medical appointments
Qualifications
Passion for supporting others and delivering outstanding careExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build professional relationshipsReliability, trustworthiness, and respect for confidentialityPhysical stamina to assist with mobility and personal care tasksPatience, empathy, and understanding towards clients' needsBasic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keepingFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekendsWillingness to undergo necessary background checks and health screeningsPrevious experience in a care setting is desirable, but not essentialAdditional Information
