Nursery : Bright Horizons Whetstone Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary : Starting from £27,231.95 - £28,274.40 per annum (Full-time equivalent - Pro-rata) (dependent on qualification / s and experience)

Location : Whetstone, London

We are looking for a part time, Level 2 / 3 qualified Practitioner to join our Bright Horizons Whetstone nursery, situated in Whetstone, North London, commutable by car or public transport. The nearest station is Totteridge & Whetstone Underground Station, which is on the Northern Line making it easily commutable from Barnet, Finchley, Mill Hill, Camden, Euston and surrounding areas! This role is for lunch cover.

Our 46 place nursery is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’, with a beautiful rooftop terrace, which allows children to continue their learning journey outdoors. With a wide range of age-specific activities and toys, there is always so much to discover and explore, including our exciting sand and water trays.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones.
  • Develop and maintain strong parent / carer partnerships
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment
  • What we’re looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 2 / 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or similar)
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
