We have an amazing opportunity for

residential support workers

to join our caring and support team at

Norton Court House , our specialist longer-term service for children and young people with a diagnosed Learning Disability and who display challenging behaviour as a result. We offer intensive levels of support and care to help the young people we care for develop social and life skills.

We encourage our young people to attend school or college during their stay with us, wherever possible, and to join us on fun day trips out to theme parks, the seaside or wherever their interests lie!

You will have an opportunity to learn whilst you work with Active Care Group. After probation you will be working towards

Level 4 Diploma

in Residential child care.

What you'll be working :

in Residential child careWhat you'll be doing :

Build relationships with children and young peopleEstablish methods of communication with children and young people, reducing barriers when necessaryAssist children and young people with mealtimes where necessarySupport with activities of daily living and personal care when neededCommunicate any issues to the on shift team leader or managementAccurately report and / or record work activitiesWhat you'll have :

A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young peopleNVQ 3 or equivalent in ChildcareShould have lived in the UK for 3 yearsThe ability to communicate effectively at all levelsMinimum experience of 9 months in the child careExperience working within the Child care sector / Autism / LDWe also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident committed employer.
