Exterior Design Engineer - 12 months - £27.00 PAYE - Cranfield - 3 days on site

Exciting Opportunity : Exterior Design Engineer - Cranfield

What You Will Do :

  • Lead global design and development at part / module level, working within a cross-functional global team.
  • Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) application from vehicle and styling specifications.
  • Create and manage part validation plans for suppliers, including supplier management focusing on cost, quality, and timing.
  • Ensure meeting of regulation and safety performance requirements, alongside managing and reporting part cost performance against budget.
  • Conduct quick root cause analysis of technical concerns and manage QCT for the efficient adoption of solutions.
  • Perform design reviews before major project milestones, supporting global strategies with European customer insights and competitor benchmarking.

What You Will Bring :

  • A Design / Engineering qualification, preferably at Degree level.
  • Proficiency in NX CAD skills, with a focus on engineering rather than CAD design.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and explain ideas to a global audience.
  • Knowledge of datum concepts / geometrical tolerancing and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in automotive design and development, particularly in Body & Exterior manufacturing processes.
  • A valid driving licence and the ability to travel globally.

    • Location :

    This role is based in Cranfield, with a requirement to be on-site for a minimum of 3 days a week.
