The post presents an ideal opportunity for a person who has an interest and knowledge of Environmental Health related work and has or wishes to develop practical experience of delivering front line environmental health duties.

Working with the support of more senior colleagues, you will take responsibility for your own caseload. Your duties will include :

  • Undertaking investigations
  • Compliance and complaint inspections
  • Providing advice and guidance to members of the public and other service users and partners
  • You will have guidance and support from specialist officers whilst working within a team that places a high value on teamwork, customer focus, professionalism, responsibility, and creativity. Ultimately, you will need to be able to work on your own initiative but will have the support of your team as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our small but busy team. You must be :

  • Competent with Microsoft Office and the use of the internet
  • An excellent communicator at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to plan / prioritise and sequence multiple and potentially conflicting priorities
  • You will also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to undertake duties across the entire district. We work flexibly in Warwick and support working at home or flexible working patterns that enable you to tailor your working and personal life. We provide the equipment and tools to enable you to work flexibly, and in return, ask you to use that flexibility to be creative and ambitious in the services we deliver.

You will be expected to be based in the office on at least one day a week (Mon-Fri on a rota basis), attend meetings as required, and be available for occasional out of hours work, sometimes at the weekend to respond to complaints (approximately 10 times a year).

If you are ready for your next challenge and want to work somewhere where you can make a real difference to the community living, working, and visiting the district, we want to hear from you.
