    Job responsibilities

    The Primary Care Network (PCN) Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Primary Care Network. This role involves ensuring the efficient delivery of integrated primary and community healthcare services, optimizing resource use, managing staff, and fostering collaborative relationships among stakeholders. The PCN Manager will also spearhead quality improvement initiatives and enhance patient engagement within the network.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Operational Management

  • Coordination : Oversee daily operations of the PCN, ensuring all practices and services function cohesively.
  • Policy Implementation : Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures to standardize processes across the network.
  • Resource Allocation : Manage the distribution of resources, including staff, equipment, and facilities, to meet the networks needs efficiently.
  • 2. Strategic Planning

  • Goal Setting : Collaborate with Clinical Directors to establish strategic goals and priorities.
  • Implementation : Develop and execute strategies to achieve these goals, including launching new initiatives and optimizing existing processes.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation : Continuously assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
  • 3. Financial Management

  • Budget Management : Prepare and oversee the networks budget, ensuring financial resources are used effectively.
  • Financial Reporting : Generate financial reports and forecasts to track the networks financial health.
  • Funding Acquisition : Identify and pursue funding opportunities, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • 4. Staff Coordination and Development

  • Recruitment and Training : Support the recruitment and training of healthcare professionals within the network.
  • Team Leadership : Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Compliance : Ensure staff adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • 5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Relationship Building : Build and maintain relationships with GP practices, community services, local authorities, and other healthcare providers.
  • Communication Facilitation : Organize regular meetings and disseminate information to ensure effective communication within the network.
  • Representation : Represent the PCN at meetings, forums, and events, advocating for the networks needs and priorities.
  • 6. Quality Improvement

  • Quality Monitoring : Continuously monitor the quality of care provided within the network.
  • Improvement Initiatives : Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives based on data and feedback.
  • Compliance Assurance : Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and best practices.

  • Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelors degree in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field. A masters degree or specific healthcare management qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience : Proven experience in healthcare management, preferably within primary care or community health settings.
  • Skills : Strong leadership and management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in financial management and budget oversight.Strategic planning and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of healthcare policies, regulations, and best practices.Ability to manage and analyze data effectively.
