Opportunity for a Mechanical Quality Inspector to join a global industrial engineering services organisation on the UK 's largest construction project at Hinckley Point C, Somerset. Due to the nature of the site, any applicants must be eligible to be successfully processed for UK security clearance. Main ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and supporting QA documentationProvide Quality related technical support for projects / maintenanceReview vendor / supplier Quality Plans and Inspection and Test PlansLiaise with Welding Engineers and Project Engineers in relation to submission of documentation and QA requirements for projects / maintenanceCo-ordinate and advise guidance on material certification, welding, NDT and other quality requirementsCo-ordinate the QA / QC Engineering function within M, E & I disciplines for BP FPSLiaise with 3rd party inspectors and co-ordinate the Inspection functionRaise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client's QA departmentsEnsure all quality documentation / records are maintained within the Company's Combined Management System (CMS)Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against KPIsContribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the CompanyQuality Auditing - Internal & ExternalSupport existing, strong workshop HSE Culture Experience and QualificationsGood Engineering and QA / QC backgroundKnowledge and experience in Quality Management SystemsDevelopment of project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs etc) and review of supplier QA documentationKnowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniquesAble to read and understand isometric drawingsUnderstanding of and familiarity with pipe standards and specificationsRadiographic interpretationComputer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essentialUnderstanding of fabrication, welding and NDT techniquesGood communication and report writing skillsRole QualificationsCSWIP Level 3.2 Senior Welding InspectorPCN level 2 - Radiographic InterpretationRecognised Internal Auditor qualificationONC / HNC Mechanical Engineering (Desirable)Member of Chartered Quality Institute (Desirable)WIMS Requirements One of the followingRecognised Engineering Qualification (ONC / BTEC / C&G)JB15A / A Associate Diploma of Engineering and Advanced Certificate in Engineering MandatoryCCNSGThis is a contract role with an expected 10-12 week duration and you will need to be based a commutable distance from the Hinckley Point C location for the duration.
