Job description

Step Teachers are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher for an immediate start at a secondary school. This role will be covering Key Stages 3 &; 4 and will run until the end of the academic year. This role begins ASAP in March 2025.

Duties as English Teacher :

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Teach a range of topics, including literature, creative writing, grammar, and comprehension.
  • Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analytical skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students in preparing for examinations and coursework.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, writing workshops, or school performances.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the English curriculum.

Ideal English Teacher :

  • A degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching English at [primary / secondary] level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills as an English Teacher.
  • Passion for literature, language, and student development.
