Job description

We are seeking a nurturing, dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team, within the Reception Class. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Location : Barrowford

Role : Full-time (8.30am – 3.30pm)

Start Date : As soon as possible

Salary : £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, play-based learning activities.
  • Assist with the daily routines of the classroom, including snack times, toileting, and transitions.
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups with children to support learning and development.
  • Observe and record children’s progress in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

About You :

  • A genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Experience in an EYFS or nursery setting (desirable but not essential).
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning / Early Years).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and positive attitude.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
