The Role :
The role is in the Accounting Technical Advisory team, within Investment Accounting Services. The Investment Accounting Services team are responsible for the oversight and management of third party suppliers in relation to fund accounting, covering net asset values, financial reporting and costs and charges regulatory reporting for M&G’s UK, Luxembourg and Irish UCITs and AIFs. These funds are sold globally and are invested globally in public and private asset classes including debt, equity, derivatives and other funds.
The roes is to provide technical and accounting advise for M&G’s full range of funds and jurisdictions supporting all fund related change activities and acting as an SME in fund accounting.
Specifically, to assist with the increased demand, particularly within private markets, of fund launches, closures and mergers and complex fund transactions within M&G’s fund ranges in the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Providing fund accounting technical expertise to support projects with a focus on private and alternative assets.
- Preparation of accounting papers for complex transactions or new asset classes to ensure correct accounting treatment.
- Providing technical advice in relation to BAU activities such as NAV oversight, financial reporting and costs and charges.
- Review and assess the impact of changes in regulations and accounting standards on NAV production, financial reporting and other regulatory disclosures including costs and charges.

Fund and share class launches,Fund mergers and closures,In-species,New instruments and new markets,Regulatory change including accounting standards and other fund disclosures such as costs and chargesThe role would suit an experienced fund accountant with technical and accounting knowledge and experience including the following :
Fund accounting including NAV production, pricing, share class hedging and financial reportingRegulatory knowledge including UK, Luxembourg, Ireland, Channel Islands, Europe and AsiaProduct knowledge – UCITs and AIFs including ICVC, AUT, ACS, UCI Part 1, UCI Part II, SIF, RAIF, SPV, SV, QUAIF, ICAV, Section 110, LP / GP, etc.Accounting policies and GAAPs including UK, Lux and IFRSInstrument knowledge – equity, debt and derivatives for both private and public assetsFund costs and charges and regulatory templatesFund set-ups and project workKey Skills and Experience Required Include :
