Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated,enthusiastic Musculoskeletal trained sonographer for our North East LondonDiagnostic Services. Successful Applicants will work across one site inHavering; however, flexibility is required. To succeed you must have excellentcommunication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering firstclass diagnostic services and patient care We are looking for advancedpractitioners, experienced in all aspects of General and MusculoskeletalUltrasound. However, if you have experience in some or most of these areas, wewould still like to talk to you and help you realise your full potential!

To succeed you must be experienced and haveexcellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to deliveringfirst class diagnostic services and patient care.

Main duties of the job

Job Purpose :

  • Toprovide an efficient Ultrasound service, working within established policiesand processes.
  • Toreport to and support the Lead Sonographer / Senior Operations Manager with therunning of the service.
  • Toensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld to patients,consultants and clinic team.
  • Toperform a range of general and specialised examinations, maintaining thehighest professional and technical standards, whilst promoting highprofessional and ethical standards of clinical practice to ensure that allaspects of clinical governance are fulfilled.

    Job responsibilities

  • Toexercise the highest standard of patient care and actively improve the patientexperience.
  • Toprovide a comprehensive and effective high quality Ultrasound service forPrivate, NHS and Consultant appointments.
  • Toperform a range of Ultrasound examinations and maintain a high level ofexpertise in the safe operation of imaging equipment. Be able to adaptsonographic technique where patient presentation dictates.
  • To ensure thatall Ultrasound referrals are evaluated and prioritised according to Healthshareclinical protocols and clinical information.
  • To maintainconfidentiality at all times.
  • Escalate anyproblems, incidents and concerns to a senior member of staff.
  • To ensure thataccurate records are maintained in line with the policies and procedures.
  • Comply withNational & Local Infection Control Polices & Procedures.
  • To liaise withthe Radiologist or referring Consultant in an effective and professionalmanner, in order to provide the best possible service for the patient.
  • Work with minimalsupervision or under own initiative.
  • To participate inthe Quality Assurance Programme in accordance with company policies
  • Follow the Health& Safety at work Act and ensure adherence to Healthshare polices.
  • To support RiskAssessments to provide an environment, equipment and working procedures that isas safe as reasonably practicable for patients and staff.
  • To participate infurther education in line with the requirements of the Health ProfessionsCouncil through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and to complete appropriatemandatory training in line with company policy
  • To be prepared tovary working hours, as may be necessary, to meet the demands of the service.
