Teaching Assistants – Southampton

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking Teaching Assistants for Secondary Schools located in the Southampton area.

As a successful candidate you will be providing a nurturing and caring environment for all pupils to excel and ensuring the best education possible.

You will be supporting students one-to-one or in small groups with their learning, as well as supporting the classroom teacher in their duties. You are likely to be supporting students with autism, learning difficulties, SEMH & behavioural challenges.

Previous experience working within a school setting and / or special educational needs would be advantageous, but not essential as ongoing training will be offered throughout the role.

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the Teaching Assistant role :

  • Previous experience working with children and young people, although this is not essential providing you have the right attitude and desire
  • Pro-active attitude in the classroom and a willingness to join in with class activities
  • A passion for supporting children with autism & complex needs
  • You should have lots of energy and enthusiasm with a positive attitude towards working with SEN students

    • To be eligible as a Teaching Assistant role through Prospero Teaching you must :

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
