HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Description Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit experienced HGV 1 DRIVERS for a variety of shifts either ongoing or ad-hoc for various clients across West Yorkshire. Hours of work : Days / Nights Mainly weekdays, occasional weekend shifts Varying start times depending on client needs Salary : £14.27ph - £20.45 depending on client and shift PLUS holiday pay Minimum pay 8 hours per shift The Role : Mainly trunking Some shifts may involve a number of drops Curtainsiders, containers or flatbed shifts Some roles may involve working with a driver's mate Duties / Responsibilities : Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures. Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures. To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner. To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift. Essential Skills : Be able to work on own initiative Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat CE licence. Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card. Must hold a valid Digital tacho card. Good communication skills. Good customer relations. Have a safe driving record. A minimum of 24 months' experience as a Class 1 driver No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations. No DR’s, IN’s or DD’s offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
