Job Title : Teaching Assistant

Location : Northumberland

Contract Type : Long Term

Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a secondary school based in Northumberland.

This dynamic 11-19 academy, located in Northumberland, provides an inspiring environment where both students and staff can learn, grow, and thrive.

A Teaching Assistant role at this school involves engaging in a variety of exciting activities, including sports, performing arts, charity work, and volunteering. The academy provides numerous opportunities to support both personal and academic growth.

Only applicants with a fully enhanced DBS will be contacted.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8 : 30am until 16 : 30pm and is a long-term position.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will :

  • Have experience of working in a transferable role
  • Work with the pupils on both a 1 : 1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
  • Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the child's curriculum through lesson planning
  • Possess good classroom skills
  • Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
