Support officer, Farming in Protected Landscapes

Based at Hexham, Northumberland with some home working

Part time / full time hours available. Minimum three days per week.

Fixed term to 31 / 3 / 25

26,873- £ 29777 per annum (pro rata if part time)

Do you have a passion for helping others and the environment? Do you want to build climate change resilience? Would you like to work for a National Park? This is an opportunity to work alongside farmers and landowners, supporting them to access funding streams as part of the DEFRA Farming in Protected Landscapes Funding Programme.

You will need :

  • Demonstrable understanding of the issues facing rural communities and businesses, especially those within the upland farming sector
  • Confidence in the use of information technology systems, the use of Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams and GIS applications.
  • Project administration / management experience, for instance verification of claims or detailed contractual information, monitoring projects
  • A working knowledge of local and regional government structures in England
  • To be very methodical with excellent attention to detail
