What will you be doing?
Subsea7 is looking for an Offshore Crewing Manager to join our Offshore Delivery (OD) team on full-time, permanent basis, located in our Westhill, Aberdeen office.
The Offshore Crewing Manager has responsibility to deliver all crewing activities for any regions / countries they are appointed to as the Crewing focal point in support of our projects. This position also has fleet wide responsibility for the Marine and Lay Technicians skill pools.
This position plays a key role in engaging all stakeholders and the crewing department, ensuring a supply of qualified, skilled offshore personnel who are effectively planned and deployed to meet the needs of the business.
This will be a varied role and one that will adapt to the needs of the business in an environment that demands flexibility and resourcefulness but some of the main responsibilities will be :
- Ensure the forecast demand for offshore personnel in the assigned pools is accurately managed and any material changes are highlighted and acted upon as necessary.
- Act as the Crewing focal point for Crew planning to support any new builds / major conversions.
- Ensure there is a network of manning agencies that can provide a quality supply of offshore personnel sufficient to meet such demands.
- Support and make recommendations for the appointment of senior marine ranks.
- Review the manning norms and recommend any changes to the optimum mix of employment types.
- Ensure the planning and execution of the deployment offshore personnel are in line with strategic PoB manning models.
- Engage with L & D function on training and competency requirements for the assigned pools ensuring any changes are documented and stakeholders are informed as required.
- To engage with relevant stakeholders on the succession, development of personnel in the skill pool.
- To collaborate closely with HR Departments on issues related to hiring and evaluating employee performance.
- To ensure that the relevant checks, processes are in place to satisfy offshore personnel are in possession of the necessary current certification required for their discipline / position.
- Ensure that all new personnel are inducted into Marine and Lay Techs planning teams.
- Regularly monitor and support the skill pools in the utilization of staff against their contract days.
- Responsible for cost control within area of responsibility and approval of invoices where relevant in line with Company policy, approval matrix.
- Regularly review and update Crewing documents, processes, that fall under your area of responsibility.
- Undertake audits of key agency suppliers on a regular basis, act as the focal point for any audits Crewing are requested to take part in, client, internal, flag etc.

This role would suit someone with extensive experience working offshore in a senior marine officer rank (i.e. Captain or Chief Officer). Consideration may be given to candidates with equivalent experience in offshore marine crewing management.Comprehensive understanding of the offshore energy Industry. You should be able toto display an understanding of the technical aspects of the allocated skill pools and competencies / training required for offshore roles within them.Effective organisational and accountability skills, with skill to review work methods in support of continually developing smart and efficient ways of workingHighly motivated to deliver effective operational performance. Able to work, and motivate others, to deliver under demanding schedules and quick to respond to changes to minimize disruptionA high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships and communicate (in English) across all levels of stakeholders, both internal and external, up to the highest levels. Comfortable discussing issues and topics of importance in the correct manner at Senior Management Level.Proficient in the use of IT applications, including MS Office Suite and data base systems.LI-DM1
