This long-standing company are looking for a Wire / Mechanical Test Technician to be primarily responsible for performing mechanical testing during final inspection.What’s in it for you?Hours of work : Monday to FridayHolidays : 26 days plus bank holidaysPension SchemePrivate Health CareFree off-road parkingThe roles and responsibilities of a Laboratory Test Technician : Conduct mechanical testing on wire products to ensure compliance with industry & customer standards and specifications.Carryout heat treatment capability testing in accordance with industry & customer standards and specificationsAnalyse test data and record results, identifying any discrepanciesProduce final inspection certificatesCoordinate / manage sub-contract testing as requiredMaintain testing equipment and ensure a safe working environmentAssist in troubleshooting and resolving quality-related issues as they ariseAssist with quality control during goods inwards (e.g control of mill certificates, non-conforming goods rejections)Assist with calibration of measuring equipment (e.g micrometers)Being responsible for universal testing machines, hardness testers, lab furnaces, micrometres, microscopes. etcRequirements of the Laboratory Test Technician : Experience performing Mechanical TestsAble to work well independently but also within a team environmentExcellent attention to detailGreat communication skills, both written and verbalFlexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasksExperience working to / with international standards e.g ASTM, AMSExperience with microscopy is a plusWhat happens after you apply for this role?Applications will be reviewed within 3 working days, however as we are receiving high levels of applications, if you have not been contacted after 5 days of sending your CV unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
