Position : EstimatorClient : Principle Civil Engineering ContractorLocation : Central LondonSalary : Competitive Salary – dependent on experienceB&B Construction Recruitment is delighted to be working with one of our leading employee-owned £100m turnover principle contractor based in Central London who get involved with Civil Engineering, Demolition, Piling, and Structures projects up to £150m. They self-deliver most of their works across both JCT and NEC contracts.Role : Estimator to join a ever-growing preconstruction / work winning team in London! This dynamic and innovative team of 20 covers bidding, design, and estimating across demolition, piling, and civils, and are now looking for a talented Estimator to join their civils division.Key Responsibilities :
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to understand scope and requirements.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotes for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain cost databases for accurate pricing and benchmarking.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost overruns.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify project details.
- Prepare and submit competitive and compliant tender documents within deadlines
- Calculate direct and indirect costs, including labor, materials, plant, and overheads.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and bills of quantities (BoQs).
- Assess and apply contingencies, inflation, and market conditions to estimates.
- Develop cost control strategies and forecasting methods for project budgeting
- Assist in negotiations with clients and subcontractors regarding pricing and contract terms.
- Monitor and track actual costs against estimated costs to improve future estimates
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.Requirements :
- Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering and construction sectors.
- Solid understanding of NEC and / or JCT contracts.
- Experience in bid management and cost analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferredWhy Join This Company :
