Then Morecambe Bay is just the place for you, offering the beautiful Lake District on your doorstep.

Our Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, highly motivated nurses to join our dynamic, dedicated, forward-thinking professional team which serves a wide geographical area with rural and urban communities.

The services we provide include Children’s Inpatient, Day Care, Assessment, and Outpatients.

Main duties of the job

The units encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services for our communities. We also have dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments on both sites. This ensures a rich variety of experiences and development for our staff.

You will care for children, young people, and families who are admitted for assessment, elective or emergency surgery, investigations, and treatment, including those requiring high dependency care. You will plan and evaluate together with other members of the MDT, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the child, young person, or family, maintaining a high standard of contemporaneous documentation.

You will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Code and adhere to local guidelines and policies, and complete training requirements.

You will work alongside the safeguarding team and follow local safeguarding policy.

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical / Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life threatening conditions.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery.
