Job description

Location : Holy Trinity Primary School Newdyke Avenue Kirkintilloch, G66 2JW

Salary : £23,942.69 - £26,023.07 per year pro rata

Contract Type : Temporary

Position Type : Part Time

Hours : 11 hours per week

Job Summary

Salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours.

Please note that this position is temporary until June 2025.

Work days : Monday and Tuesday.

You will provide support to children and young people with additional support needs within our primary school. You will be responsible for the personal care needs of pupils and, under the direction of the class teacher, help pupils with specific learning activities, follow instructions, and organize their work. When required, you will provide supervision for pupils outside the classroom, such as in the playground, corridors, dining area, during PE, and on organized school trips.

You should have a pleasant, tolerant manner and a proven capacity to establish positive relationships with children and young people. Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs and an interest in their development is essential. A relevant qualification in childcare is desirable.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to confirmation of employment by East Dunbartonshire Council. Successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check, which will be deducted from their first salary payment. In specific circumstances, the payment could be deducted in installments from an employee’s wages following the commencement of employment, with approval from HR Services Lead. Should an employee leave before the payment is deducted, the full amount will be deducted from their final salary.
