As a Senior GIS Specialist you will :

  • Be part of our busy and expanding Geomatics team where you will use the latest ESRI technology to create and maintain online mapping systems and mobile applications to continually innovate and improve our service to new and existing clients
  • Obtain, manage and analyse data from a range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency and Utility companies to support and provide expert advice to our clients
  • Produce accurate GIS plans that will range from land ownership, access, utility routing, and legal plans
  • Utilise data via our bespoke databases and processes, ensuring data quality standards and compatibility are met and always maintained
  • Lead in identifying key data sources, engaging with suppliers to licence, obtain and set up the required environment and process to gain best value of them
  • Manage projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work.
  • Be able to accurately assess the time requirements of a request and be confident in advising clients and surveyors
  • Fully understand all client requirements to provide guidance to junior team members and quality assure deliverables to ensure standards are met at all times
  • Support the development of more junior members of staff by line managing, providing feedback and conducting their progress reviews
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies and recommend how these can be used to innovate and enhance Geomatics workflows and processes.

The successful candidate will :

  • Have a degree or masters in GIS or a closely related subject such as Geography, Surveying, Land Management with a large GIS component
  • Have practical GIS experience and ideally within the utility / energy sector
  • Have a working and applied knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software for spatial data capture, management, visualisation and analysis
  • Have knowledge and proven experience in creating and maintaining ESRI mobile and web applications via ArcGIS Enterprise or Online, including Web App Builder, Experience Builder, Dashboards, as well as applications, including Field Maps, Survey123; and using Geoserver and OpenLayers
  • Experience of database creation, maintenance and integration
  • Have a strong map production background with excellent attention to detail to ensure all outputs are to the highest standard
  • Have a full UK driving licenceand willingness to travel to site and projectlocations
