Part Time Support Worker Ref 41953

Our client is an energetic 10 year old boy who sustained substantial injuries at birth.He can communicate and make his needs known by saying some words, pointing and using his communication device. He is a fun, lively character and knows what he likes and dislikes.He requires an energetic, fun-loving support worker to play games with him, assist with eating and drinking and to take him out locally, with or without his parents.The support is being put in place to allow his mother some respite, and therefore, we are looking for candidates with experience in caring for children with cerebral palsy, who are pro-active and can work on their own, without constant guidance.You must be able to deliver epilepsy care, medication and gastrostomy care, full training will be given.Previous experience of working with children with additional needs is essential.Somebody who can come with creative ideas, for activities to do with our client would be an advantage.Light cleaning duties may be included, such as cleaning our client’s equipment and clearing up after he has eaten.Hours of workAn average of 8 - 12 hours per week8 hours per week term time.After school shifts Monday – Friday – 2 x 4 hour shifts – 4pm -8pm.12 hours per week school holidays.Monday to Friday – 3 x 4 hour shifts to be arranged with clients mother.Rate of Pay£17.00 - £19.00 per hourApplicants must have a full driving licence with access to their own vehicle due to the remote location of our client’s home.Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.Bush & Co are acting as agents for our client.Location : UpminsterContract Type : PermanentJob Type : Part time, Approx 12 per weekSalary : £17.00 - £19.00 per hourYou may also have experience in the following : Support Worker, Care Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Community Support Worker, Disability, Disabilities, Care Staff, Childcare, etc.REF-(Apply online only)
