You will be caring for Young Adults between the ages of 18 - 40. The service provides care and support for individuals who have severe learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex health needs who require 24-hour specialist care and support.You will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to young people. Managing the health needs of our young people forms a significant part of the service that we provide and are firmly committed to meeting the very unique and individual health care needs of our young people. Our home provides a safe and nurturing environment where preconceptions are challenged and young people are encouraged to be the best that they can be and to live life to its fullest.Shift Details : This is a hands on, shift based role. You will be leading the shift and supervising staff whilst still providing direct support to the young people in your care. You will be contracted to working 38 hours per week, covering various shifts - 7am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm or long days and your rota will include working at weekends.Key Responsibilities of a Team Leader : Maintain a safe, caring, and consistent environment for young adultsEnsuring that RSW staff are adequately supported in their personal development and training so that they can actively participate and deliver in meeting all agency standards as assessed by CQC.Ensuring that the healthcare, educational and welfare needs of the young people are consistently being met as a consequence of adequate daily management instruction and supervision by the RSW staff.To promote and engage in positive relationships with Local Authorities and other agencies.To assist the Registered Manager in conducting the RSW supervisions, performance reviews and appraisals of staff.To support the management team with weekly / monthly rotas, auditing and record monitoringDeliver sensitive, high-quality support tailored to individual needsEmpower individuals to achieve personal goals, build confidence, and gain independencePromote equality and diversity, and assist in the services smooth operationSupport individuals health and educational needsEncourage the development of life skills for independencePlan and participate in leisure activitiesAct as a keyworker, supporting individual care plansFollow all policies, procedures, and legislative requirementsParticipate in ongoing professional developmentQualifications & ExperienceNVQ Level 3 Diploma
in Health and Social Care, Residential Care, or QCF Level 3 equivalentIdeally 1 years' experience in a Team Leader or Shift Leader positionIdeally2 years experiencein a residential settingIdeally 2 years' experience supporting people with learning disabilitiesIdeally 1 years' experience supporting young people with complex needsIdeal CandidateTo thrive in this Team Leader role, you should have : Strong communication skillsThe ability to communicate on various levelsWorking knowledge of, following, and working to Care PlansExperience of shift leading, delegating tasks, providing support and undertaking staff supervisions.The ability to work effectively during high pressured situationsYou will ideally hold a full and valid driving license as part of this role can involve transporting our young adults to go out in the communityYou will be a caring, approachable and supportive team player with a passion to give the young adults in your care the best life they can have.If you are passionate about making a positive impact, we invite you to apply and become a valued Team Leader in Adults Residential Care with us.
