IT Technician My client is a Solicitors who are committed to helping people injured during medical treatment and accidents. They have been established since 2002 and have grown to be one of the largest medical negligence, personal injury, and medical product liability firms in the North of England.
They are now seeking an experienced IT Technician to join their office based in York. As the IT Technician, you will assist the wider Switalskis Group IT team in the day to day operation and maintenance of the IT systems, and provide first line user support. The successful candidate will need to be experienced in strong troubleshooting, organisation & communication skills, as well as able to work independently or within a team.
IT Technician – Position Overview
- Providing 1st Line technical support for staff and Directors in relation to IT problems, both hardware and software related, over the telephone or face to face.
- Taking responsibility for incidents to ensure they are resolved in a timely fashion and are managed appropriately, escalating when required.
- Providing technical support for telecoms issues, including smart phones and first line support for VOIP system issues.
- Providing first line support for photocopier & printer problems
- Liaising with third party providers for server, photocopier / printer and telephone system support as necessary.
- Assisting with administration of users, groups, and security policies, & providing home visits for technical setup remote workers
- Providing administrative and technical support for the firms digital dictation system
- Providing 1st line support for the case management system
- Working as part of a team to ensure all moves are successfully logged and audits are correct
- Ensuring continuity of service by monitoring service & network performance
Position Requirements – IT Technician
Full UK Driving License and own vehicleArticulate, literate, and numeratePrevious experience of working in IT support (ideally legal services environment)Excellent knowledge of Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2012R2 & 2016Excellent knowledge of MS Office 2016 and Office 365Experience of supporting printers & multifunctional devices, remote connections and mobile devices.Experience of RDS environments, ideally CitrixProclaim Experience – AdvantageUnderstanding of IT SecurityNetwork experience; running of cables, configuring routers and switchesAble to build and maintain PC’s and LaptopsWillingness to work flexibly in line with business needs, possible out of hours work & working across multiple sitesPosition Remuneration – IT Technician
