Senior Finance Business Partner Nations.

Salary : 65000 per annum.

Location : Remote with some regular travel (including to central office in Watford).

Contract : Permanent 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role

As Senior Finance Business Partner Nations you will lead on the financial support provided to our Childrens Services directorate assisting senior leadership in managing a portfolio of services benefitting children and young people with annual income of over 120 million across all four UK nations. You will play a key role in supporting strategic delivery maximising the impact and outcomes of services provided through provision of highquality financial information advice and decision support. You will manage a dedicated finance business partnering team and as a senior member of the Finance department provide an important contribution to ensuring the department delivers its objectives in support of Action for Childrens mission.

Youll help to create brighter futures by :

  • Lead on the production of accurate timely financial information for the Childrens Services directorate to support delivery and maximise impact including budgeting forecasting and regular contract performance updates
  • Working closely with National and Operational Directors to ensure service impacts and contract returns are maximised including providing support review and challenge of business cases for new activities
  • Working cross functionally and in partnership with local operational management and pricing colleagues in financial negotiations with commissioners (including attending commissioner meetings)
  • Leading by example with the leadership and management of a team of c.10 finance professionals
  • Managing change programmes across the UK that leads to improved provision of financial service.
  • Letstalk about you

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent qualification with demonstrable technical proficiency.
  • Experience of working with the public sector or in an organisation that provides delivery contracts to its customers.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness coupled with people skills sufficient to building relationships.
  • Working knowledge of local authority and commissioning practices is desirable
  • Good IT skill sets including Excel and Business intelligence systems. Experience of the Oracle finance system is preferable but not essential.
  • You will be a strong leader with a solid history of delivery whilst being able to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
