Job description

Murray McIntosh are delighted to be partnering with Rockwool who are looking for a regulatory affairs specialist to join their accomplished team.

Actively engaged in discussions to drive quality and sustainability in the built environment, Rockwool are a premium brand in manufacturing insulation products designed to meet the challenges of modern living and tackle issues including climate change, noise pollution and fire safety.

This role involves grappling with complex technical information and creating well-evidenced and persuasive submissions to policy-makers and industry. It requires a scientific mind combined with outstanding communication skills, written and verbal.

Reporting to the Public Affairs and Sustainability Director, this individual will be responsible for representing Rockwool's regulatory positions in relevant forums, influencing construction material regulations, standards and guidance, and developing engagement opportunities and influencing channels.

Key responsibilities will include :

  • Monitoring and managing effective regulatory affairs activities in line with ROCKWOOL's commercial priorities
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the UK public policy environment, regulatory and standards framework, and industry landscape
  • Writing high-quality regulatory materials, including government consultation responses and briefings
  • Proactively providing expert advice on industry and regulatory matters within ROCKWOOL
  • Identifying relevant engagement opportunities and growing ROCKWOOL's regulatory and industry affairs networks
  • Securing relationships and influence with relevant external groups (trade associations, expert bodies and institutes, etc)

To be successful in this role you will need :

  • Proven previous experience in a similar or related role, such as regulatory affairs or engineering consultancy
  • Excellent understanding of UK policy and regulatory framework
  • Demonstrable experience in external engagement and advocacy
  • Strong communicator both verbally and in writing
  • A strong interest in / knowledge of the building / construction industry
  • Rockwool have offices in Bridgend and Chiswick.
