Design Manager

Permanent, Full-time

Location : Central London

Salary : Up to £75,000 + Package

I am currently working with a well established contractor who specialise in the interior fitting out and refurbishment of commercial premises. They have recently hired a new Head of Design who is tasked with shaping a new team. This HoD is an extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and on top of this, is a lovely person and is great to work with. He has already helped them / won them several new projects!

They are recruiting for two Design Managers to help with an exciting and vast pipeline of work within Central London. Majority of their work is between £5m - £15m and you would potentially be covering two sites at once.

This role would also include tendering, work winning, pitching, pack reviewing, and more. You do not need to have direct experience with this, but keen to be involved in these areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for career growth, as you would be joining the start of a newly formed team. Their are big plans in place to expand this team further and therefore would give you the chance to move up the ladder quickly or at the pace you would desire.

Their office is based in Central London

Responsibilities :

  • End to end design delivery process starting from brief definition and internal alignment with various stakeholders, to appointment, management and review of external design vendors that carry out design work for projects
  • Ensure regular reporting of progress against agreed plans to senior members of Design and Engineering and the associated project managers.
  • Advise and ensure corrective action taken promptly to address any design issues
  • Ensure quality and value for money received through third party appointments
  • Help development of new tools, processes, and procedures for best practice design management
  • Develop and manage long term relationships with key third party design and equipment vendors

What is needed from you :

  • Degree Educated
  • Pitching & Tendering experience desirable
  • Architectural experience & degree
  • Fit Out experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
