We’re working with a major organisation undergoing a large-scale finance transformation, focused on modernising its systems, processes and governance to support improved decision-making and operational efficiency. As part of this transformation, we’re seeking a Project Workstream Lead to take ownership of the delivery and implementation of a new system to manage income for research and capital projects. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that the Projects module is fit for purpose, adopted effectively, and aligned with wider organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic functional lead for the Projects module, responsible for configuration decisions and ensuring system design meets organisational needs.
- Collaborate closely with programme leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders to manage delivery across research income and estates project capabilities.
- Drive process improvements by analysing current practices, gathering input from users, and identifying areas of optimisation.
- Maintain data integrity and governance within the module, ensuring financial information is accurate and appropriate for reporting purposes.
- Act as a subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on best practices for workflow optimisation and ensuring buy-in from professional and operational users. What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience leading finance systems implementations in a complex or large-scale environment
- Strong background in research grants and capital project processes
- Deep understanding of finance operations and project accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with Oracle, including knowledge of the Projects module
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels
- Proactive problem-solving and analytical thinking
