Job Overview

The Stag at Mentmore, the community owned destination gastropub for foodies, ran by foodies.

We are proud to have recently been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for our exception food and service. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Manager to join our team.

We are looking to bolster our friendly and welcoming front of house team and are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our team in a vibrant restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the bar and restaurant, fostering a positive team atmosphere, and delivering exceptional service to our guests.

Duties

Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring adherence to standards and procedures.
Collaborate with the General Manager on introducing new ideas and promotions.
Help develop training programmes for new staff members, focusing on hospitality practices.
Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain efficient operations.
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Participate in staff meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Experience

Previous experience in a similar restaurant or hospitality setting is essential, with a focus on customer facing roles.

Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management and development.

Strong understanding of beverage ordering.

Ability to lead by example and upsell to our guests.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to motivate others.
