Job description

The Divisional Controller is responsible for the financial oversight of CCC’s entities based in the UK, Spain and Romania. The Divisional Controller ensures that all accounting and tax reporting is in accordance with regional tax & accounting regulations as well as US GAAP. In this role, you will oversee local Finance staff and partner with external payroll providers, tax advisers and auditors. Additionally, you will ensure that all processes, internal controls, policies and company assets are well managed and appropriately safeguarded.

The selected candidate may be located in the UK or Spain and work in our London or Seville offices or be remote depending on commuting distance.

What you'll be doing :

  • Lead general accounting and audit activities of CCC entities based in the UK, Spain and Romania ensuring compliance with the domestic statutory regulations as well as with UK and US GAAP.
  • Manage monthly and annual closing schedules, including account reconciliation process, monthly multi-currency group consolidation of foreign subsidiaries.
  • Lead, support, and develop three global accounting professionals.
  • Oversee and manage tax compliance for allocated entities (VAT, corporate taxes, delivery of data for R&D tax relief) as well as managing relationships with external tax advisers. Business partnering with Corporate Tax team on subjects such as transfer pricing policy, VAT matters.
  • Oversee payment and accounting of all payroll and benefits. Manage relationships with external payroll providers for UK and Spanish legal entities, reviewing payroll files for the UK, Romania and Spain.
  • Work with external accounting firm and review STAT accounts for Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Finland and Poland entities.
  • Oversee internal controls and documentation of business processes and policies.
  • Be a trusted advisor and work collaboratively with internal teams and cross functional leaders to ensure business objectives and projects are delivered timely.

Requirements :

  • Professional Accounting qualifications required (i.e. ACA or ACCA)
  • 8 – 10 years of industry experience in an accounting role including 3-5 years leadership experience; global leadership experience a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong knowledge of taxation (CIT, PIT, VAT, Transfer Pricing)
  • Experience with Oracle R12 financial systems is desired
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to communicate, build partnerships and constructively influence employees at all levels of the organization
