Job description

Sociology Teacher – Kingston Secondary School

An Outstanding secondary school in Kingston is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join their Humanities / Social Sciences department. This is a full-time, permanent position, primarily teaching Key Stages 4 and 5.

Responsibilities :

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons.
  • Cover a range of sociological topics, theories, and research methods.
  • Encourage students to analyze social issues, inequalities, and cultural diversity.
  • Develop students' critical thinking, research, and communication skills.
  • Prepare students for success in Sociology examinations (e.g., GCSE, A-Level).
  • Teaching in an Outstanding school

Requirements :

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree in Sociology or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level (Key Stages 4 and 5).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sociology.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
